Research into the computation of special functions. There are two strands:

  • development of approximations
  • methodology of testing special function software
The group uses mathematical methods techniques to study fluid flow in porous material together with the associated processes of heat and mass transport.

Research lies in the area of using Information & Communications Technology in Mathematics teaching. Major projects have included Mathwise and SUMSMAN
Jeremy Garnett's general research interest is the area of modeling and simulation of business process workflows. He is currently investigating how individuals in the workplace understand and learn about the complex systems within which they operate.
