General Information
The Mathematics and Statistics Group is situated in Block H in the University
of Paisley, Paisley Campus.
The departmental office is located in H222 in the Elles building.
The department comprises 12 academic members of staff and 1 secretary.

Teaching, Conference and Computing Facilities
There are 3 departmental labs which each contain 10 Pentium PCs connected
to the University network.
Software common to all PCs in the department includes,

multi-media learning material such as Mathwise and Mentor
-
Microsoft Office
-
Maths and Stats packages such as Derive, Matlab and Minitab.
Additionally, each lab also has a specialised range of application software:
H322 - The Business Analysis Lab
A wide range of working and demonstration packages of business modelling
software, such as Flowcharter, Simul8 and PowerSim.
H324 - The Financial Analysis Lab
Software for analysing financial data, managing portfolio's and simulating
trading floor activity.
H326 - The Maths Support Unit
Eight additional OPUS PC's and supporting learning material comprise the
Mathematics
support group.
Other facilities
Each of the three labs is well equipped with whiteboards and has access
to video and computer projection facilities. The flexible seating and table
arrangements allow a variety of teaching, training and conference activities
to take place.
The honours year project room also contains PCs, this is located in
H209 solely for the use of final year students.
